Sheerface Learning is a leading consultancy providing dynamic and innovative solutions to improve education across Scotland and to inspire lifelong learning in young people and adults through the use of technology and simple but creative ideas.

We are a team of creative individuals who ooze passion, enthusiasm, are full of practical tips, fresh ideas and a genuine commitment to good learning and teaching practice.

Our team is led by Sheena Hales the founder of Sheerface Learning and our trainers and researchers are respected for their innovative practice and remain practitioners in their field. Whilst based in East Lothian, we provide services across Scotland.

We have four business areas, which include:

Sheerface Training, we aim to offer training that excites, challenges and enables learners to unleash their artistic potential and nurture creativity to produce the most profound movies, animation, cartoons, blogs, engaging forums, visual evaluations, attractive reports, visual maps, digital stories, radio broadcasts,  songs, websites, reflective diaries and drama productions. We have launched our 2010 training programme, download your copy today!

Sheerface Research, we capture the impact learning is having for participants and tell their story in their own words.  We don’t just write a report - we take photographs, shoot video interviews, produce reflective comics, storyboard the journey using animation and much more. We use modern technology to capture responses by setting up online forums, engaging discussion in online chat rooms, create e-questionnaires and offer telephone and video conferencing to reduce costs and bring together geographically disperse participants.

Sheerface Resource, we develop very visual, interactive and comprehensive resources which provide step by step guides to learning. The material is rigorously tested and regularly updated.

Sheerface Support The work we do supports the development of core skills including literacy, employability, problem solving, communication skills, information technology, team work and so on. We have found that our approach allows participants to explore the challenging themes of transition, self awareness, self esteem, cultural awareness, independence and interdependence with others through practical, experimental and non intrusive exercises. We have led Scotland wide practitioner training programmes at variety of venues from schools, in the workplace, to youth centres, rehab units and prisons.

We are very excited about the work we are leading in 2010 and we hope that you will join us in finding out more.
